DSC_0492_picmonkeyedApril considers herself a ‘deep sea diver of human movement’. She has been a yoga teacher and massage therapist since 1991 with an AA degree in Advanced Massage Therapy and training and certifications in various healing movement modalities, including various styles of yoga asana practice, Pilates, fitness, and Yoga Tune Up®. April’s specialty is corrective neck, hip, and shoulder issues in a gentle, yet very effective way.

As a teacher of teachers for many years, April has taught many 200 hour yoga instructor training courses and teacher training workshops. She has authored her own 200 hour course; Transformative Yoga and is also one of the master asana trainers of Wai Lana Yoga.

April specializes in healing with enlightened, corrective movement, therapeutic yoga, massage, relaxation, highly individualized life coaching, and meditation.

Since moving to Sacramento in December 2012, April has discovered a love for working with the senior community, as well as the extreme opposite, athletes! Her work has proven to relieve the pain of arthritis and improve the quality of life throughout the aging process for seniors and improve joint range of motion and aid in muscle recovery for athletes.

Don’t expect her to spend an hour grinding her elbow into your back or buttocks! April works smarter not harder. Her sessions include the use of far infrared heat, only the highest quality herbal essential oils, and stretching to release tension and constriction, resulting in less post-massage soreness and lasting change in the tissues. Clients may also receive exercises to help with mobility, flexibility, and strength so that the effects of the massage have a lasting effect.
